Norican strengthens aluminium offering with appointment of Marco Gandini

Innovation management and business transformation specialist, Marco Gandini, has been appointed Senior Vice President Global Aluminium with overall responsibility for Norican’s dedicated aluminium businesses - ItalPresseGauss and StrikoWestofen.

Effective from November 1, the appointment will also see Marco take over leadership of die-casting solutions business ItalPresseGauss, with existing Director Mario Cincotta stepping down.

Management at StrikoWestofen remains unchanged with Peter Reuther continuing to head up operations for the global furnace solutions provider.

Gandini, who will be based out of ItalPresseGauss’ HQ and main Technology Centre in Brescia, Italy, joins Norican from GEA Group - one of the world’s largest suppliers of plant and process technology for a range of end-user sectors.

"ItalPresseGauss is such a respected name in aluminium die casting, particularly in terms of pioneering new technologies and digital tools in response to evolving market conditions. With the rise of e-mobility, a global focus on sustainability, and more foundries than ever before looking to diversify in the range of parts they produce, the business has all the right credentials to help die casters efficiently, sustainably, and profitably navigate new waters. With equipment they know they can trust."

“Coupling this with StrikoWestofen’s reach and reputation for highly energy efficient furnace solutions - including innovative melting, holding and dosing technologies to support giant casting lines - means Norican really does have a unique proposition for the current aluminium die casting market. That’s incredibly exciting for me, and I can’t wait to work with the teams at both businesses to realise the potential that is so clearly there.”

Marco Gandini, Senior Vice President Global Aluminium at Norican Group

Having started his career as an equipment design engineer and R&D specialist, Marco has over 25 years’ worth of experience in optimising product lines, business solutions and global operational set-ups to meet changing market demands and customer needs. Experience he will now use to expand the reach of ItalPresseGauss and enhance Norican’s aluminium proposition as a whole.

“As a business, we are always looking at where and how we can make changes and improvements that help us evolve in sustainable and profitable way – always focused on meeting the needs of our extensive customer-base. It’s a strategy as much about investing in the right people and business processes as it is about technology. Marco’s background and skillset is perfectly suited to supporting ItalPresseGauss and StrikoWestofen in its next chapter, and to ensuring that we are in the best position to successfully build our global aluminium offering.”
